Film genre

When I watch movies, I usually am more into horror, fantasy, and comedy. Coming up with the decision to pick one for my opening sequence was tough. In conclusion I ended up choosing a horror genre. Not many people are into horror but usually if someone does go to watch one it means that it is a good one. Besides the trailer of a film catching someone's attention to watch a movie, the opening sequence or in other words "title sequence" also catches ones attention. When it comes to horror films typically everything is usually "evil." The characters in these films usually are scary looking or have murderous intent. *deleterious* They are filled with darkness and evil. As I was researching I came up with some examples...

Uploaded Image  In this picture the women has her hair over her face and is wearing black clothes which is what usually is presented in horror films.

The lighting in films that I usually see are lowkey lighting. The lighting is usually mild or light to make it more scary. What is also typically used is natural lighting such as daylight or night time. With this lighting the genre is also most likely to be labeled as a horror film. Today I got the chance to watch a horror film named "Anabelle" which is well known also for its conventions, and helped me figure out what it used and what genre I wanted to do. The coloring in these films is always dark colors whether red or black. The clothing or even the background of the title sequences along with the fonts used. In horror films a font that is used is the "Seric Gothic Heavy", and what is included is usually the name of the films, producer(s), or the main characters. This is all of my input I was able to get for my first blog of this week and I am learning more about my project everyday.
